AM Visits Ynysboeth Infants
Christine Chapman AM has spoken of her admiration for the staff of Ynysboeth Infants School in the aftermath of the recent blaze. Following a recent visit to the school, Mrs Chapman applauded the way that the local community has helped to support the children who attend the school. (14th July 2010)
The Cynon Valley AM visited the pupils of the school who had been relocated to the nearby junior school. Mrs Chapman also met with staff and school governors to talk about what had been done to help the pupils of Ynysboeth Infants continue their schooling in their new surroundings.
Christine Chapman said; “The ways in which members of staff and governors have worked to make minimal the disruption to the education of their pupils is really impressive. I am also very impressed by the way in which the community, other schools and the local authority have rallied around in support.
“It is good that everyone has worked together to ensure pupils can return to their normal routines. The local community, and nearby schools, have generously donated to help the school’s pupils carry on. I am pleased that further work will be done over the summer in preparation for the children to start again in September.”
